Armenian soprano Lianna Haroutounian is currently establishing herself as one of the most exciting vocal and dramatic talents. Haroutounian is in-demand interpreter of Verdi’s leading soprano roles, and has sung Desdemona at the Amphitheatre of the Opéra National de Paris, Amelia with the Orchestre Lyrique de Paris conducted by Jacques Dubois, and Leonora in the production Viva l’Opera in Opera de Marseille.

Upcoming engagements include Ameliain Un Ballo in Maschera in Tours.

In 2011-2012, she covered Leonora in La Forza del Destino and Liouba in La Cerisaie by Ph. Fénelon in Paris. She sang an acclaimed Mimi inLa Boheme in Tours. In May 2011, she sang Amelia in Simon Boccanegra in Tours.

In 2010, she sang Salud in La Vida Breve in Spain. In 2009, she had a great success with Marguerite in Faust in Massy and Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera in Berne.

In 2004 she sang Verdi’s Requiem at the Church of Trinité, which she would repeat four years later in the Opera de Saint Etienne. Other concert works in her repertoire include Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, which she has sung at Saint Sulpice, Mozart’s Requiem, and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, sung in at Versailles and in Italy, respectively.

Haroutounian  studied piano before going on to obtain her diploma in singing from the Yerevan  Komitas State Conservatory in Armenia. In 2000 she was admitted to the Centre de Formation Lyrique of the Opera National de Paris where she worked with Janine Reiss and Robert Kettelson. She has in Masterclasses of Christa Ludwig, Renata Scotto, Yvonne Minton, Luigi Alva, Yevgeni Nesterenko, Jenny Anwelt.

A noted winner of many competitions, she has been awarded the Verdi Prize in the Jaume Aragall Competition in Spain, both the First Prize and the Renata Tebaldi Special Prize in Riviera Adriatica Competition in Italy, as well as the First Prize in the Arlesian Lyrical Forum in France.
